About the Artist

Katie “Kate” Logan is an accomplished American Impressionist painter, originating from the heart of Central Kentucky. From a young age, she avidly sketched, dedicating hours to honing her creativity. As time passed, she delved into the study of landscapes and still-life, garnering local recognition for her artistic passion and dedication. Over a span of more than a decade, she developed her skills by exploring various mediums before discovering a profound affinity with oils. Mastering the intricacies and expressive potential of these paints, she now channels her expertise into creating pieces rich in depth, nuance, and sophistication. Logan’s art captivates viewers with its imaginative concepts and richly expressive palette of colors, evoking powerful emotions and inviting contemplation from her audience. With this newfound love for public engagement and interaction in her work, she began to research ways to broaden her reach to the outside world.

In 2024, Logan launched her first art business venture: The Pretty Palette Company, which has since introduced Palette Studio & Gallery in downtown Georgetown KY. Apart from using the space as a personal studio & gallery, Logan also offers private lessons and group workshops to inspire creativity in her community.

Another exciting opportunity came in the form of being introduced to the world of Plein Air painting; which allows her to incorporate her passion for “open” style painting with firsthand observations in nature. The approach of both methods are apparent to the viewer in her completed works.Using much of the same materials and techniques as the Old Masters, Logan’s landscape paintings are considered timeless works of art, and meant to be admired and passed down through generations for years to come.
